Noise Exemption
The City of Markham has rules about noise. You must not be loud at certain times. If you or your group need to make a lot of noise, you can apply for a Noise Exemption online. The application process has three steps:
Step One
Tell us the place and time of your noisy event. We’ll review your request.
Step Two
We’ll tell you whether your request is approved by e-mail.
Step Three
You’ll pay a fee online or in person using the invoice we send you.
Please Note:
- We will need at least seven days to process your application.
- You don’t need an exemption to play amplified music or sounds on Fridays and Saturdays until 11 PM.

| Businesses - Restaurants, Bar & Grill | $100.00 processing fee (per application per season) |
| Special Events | $386.00 permit fee |
